"La Forza Creativa" - The Creative Force

With this project, I focus on the convergence of 3 themes:
ART * CULTURE * MEANING
Through the creative process, a person taps into the "muse," the universal inspiration that allows artistic productions to flow out. I believe that geography, culture and meaning all play together to create unique and inspiring art that transcends what we believe is our expression of truth.
Cathartic, therapeutic, invigorating, and enlightening are qualities and experiences that I believe every person receives when they tap into "the creative force" (a.k.a. the muse) and can discover their unique talents. Everyone can experience and do this!
During my short stay in Italy (2014/15), I came to realize that the innate passion of art in that country is a result of the importance of art in their culture. I felt the need to capture its effect upon me, and other artistic visitors, and I began the exploration of artist's processes, capturing them from my own perspective, and investigating the symbiotic and ripple effect relationship between culture and art. The artists I chose to collaborate and interview are:
Italy: Ennio Furiesi / Ilaria Tognarini / Annet Henneman / Raimondo Gambino
Canada: Laura Shintani
During an extended stay in Italy in 2013, I discovered all at once the idea of creating images of artists during their creative processes and my artistic interpretation to give a different view of how artists work and the importance of bringing the "viewer" into the life of the artist. Hence began my project called "Artists@Work."
